This class will introduce you to the benefits of mindfulness and how it can help us recognise moments of stress, as well as giving you practical tools to deal with difficult moments. It will involve both seated and lying meditations as well as short practices that you can use in daily life.

You will benefit from this class if you are experiencing stress or anxiety in your life, or would like to be able to relax and 'switch off' more easily or more easily navigate life's ups and downs

Mindfulness can be practiced by people of all faiths, beliefs, ages and races. You do not need to be able to 'meditate', control your mind, or even sit still! All are welcome. However, if you have recently received or are currently receiving treatment from a psychiatrist, psychotherapist or counsellor for an ongoing mental health problem, you should obtain approval from your mental health professional before proceeding further with this event at this time. Also, if you have recently or are currently going through a traumatic life event such as a separation from a long-term partner, the death of a close family member or friend or redundancy, this may not be the right time for you to attend this event.

Ellie will guide you through this practice using her knowledge from her qualifications as a Mindfulness and Meditation practitioner, having trained to teach with a variety of organisations, including the Mindfulness Association (MBLC, MBLC-YA and CBLC courses), Mindfulness in Schools Project (.breath and .be courses), Zenways (Mindfulness for Health and Wellbeing Course) and the Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy for people with cancer course. I am registered with the Bristish Association of Mindfulness Based Approaches (BAMBA) and am fully insured to teach. I have also recently co-taught a Mindfulness for Stress retreat at the Samye Ling Buddhist Monastery in Scotland, on behalf of the Mindfulness Association.
